As the schedules and situations of life change, and as our needs continue to grow, we often find ourselves in a manpower shortage in some key areas. Let me take a moment to tell you about some of the places where we can use some more help…
God’s Helping Hands is a ministry to those who need a little extra help in getting in and out of church on Sunday mornings. These volunteers man the back door of the church on Sunday mornings before Sunday School, and before the morning worship service, to assist people who arrive at church. It may be to help someone in and out of their car or to transport someone in a wheelchair, or it may be to park their car for them…whatever the need, God’s Helping Hands are there! This is a wonderful ministry, and it is such an encourager to others. Could you help us with this need? We are currently in need of more volunteers to be placed on the rotation list, and we could certainly use you!
Sunday Night Security is an important safety measure wherein we have a person positioned in the downstairs back vestibule to monitor all who enter or leave the building. With AWANA children spread all over the facility, and with multiple adult classes meeting at any given time, it would be easy for someone to walk through the back doors of the church unnoticed and make their way through the buildings. The Sunday Night Security person is given a set of keys and they lock all of the back doors except for one about ten minutes after the evening services begin. They then position themselves in the vestibule to make sure that no children exit the building alone, or that no unauthorized person comes in through the back of the church. We have men and women who do this important ministry, but we need many more. Could you help out with this need?
Children’s Nursery Workers are always needed, and our rotation list is starting to thin out a bit. If enough people participate, we would have sufficient for everyone to only have to serve a couple of times a year. This is something that husbands and wives can do together, or best friends, or senior adults, or anyone who has a love for children. It makes a big difference in our worship services if we have a place where little ones can go and be safely cared for.
These ministries don’t take any preparation time, nor is there any strenuous work involved, but their importance cannot be overstated. Caring for our children and the disabled is a vital ministry, and it makes it possible for everyone to be able to attend.
Please call us here at the church office at 237-3451 if you would like to help with any of these ministries. You can call after hours and leave a message, or you can let us know whenever you see us out and about.
God Bless You & Have A Great Week! - Bro. Dale
