Ken Goforth

Ken Goforth has served as Minister of Music since August, 1975.  He is a native of Covington, Tennessee, and a graduate of Union University, Jackson, Tennessee, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky.  Ken and his wife Pam have two daughters.  Joy is the Administrative Assistant at Hurstbourne Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky.  Amy and her husband, Mike Assad, and their son, Ethan, live in Memphis, Tennessee, where they both work as music teachers.

In addition to his work as Minister of Music, Ken has been involved in other areas of ministry.  For many years he served as Minister of Music and Youth, and now leads the Senior Adult ministry of our church.  He serves the community as a member of the Scottsville City Council, the Arts Council, the Ministerial Association, and the Scottsville Rotary Club.

The music ministry of our church provides opportunities for service to 3 year olds though adults.  This ministry includes six choirs, three handbell choirs, and an instrumental ensemble.  Ken’s goals are to help everyone understand the incredible impact that music has on our times of worship and to provide folks with God-given talent the opportunity to use that talent to glorify our Savior.
